Primo Water COVID-19 Update
At Primo Water, there is no higher priority than the safety and well-being of our customers and associates. As concerns about the potential spread of COVID-19 (the coronavirus) increase, we want to share some of the additional steps we have taken both to prevent the potential spread of the virus, and to ensure the ongoing, safe manufacturing of products and services for our customers.
Safety Protocols
We follow rigorous safety and quality protocols across our branch, plant and distribution facilities every day – including handwashing protocols and glove requirements in certain areas – to ensure that our customers receive safe, great-tasting water. Additionally, we are diligently monitoring and following guidance from the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and local and regional health agencies.
Facility and Associate Sanitation and Hygiene
We are mandating multiple preventative measures:
Reinforcement and training of frequent, thorough hand-washing and respiratory etiquette. As part of this effort, we have purchased extra cleaning supplies, including sanitizer, to have on hand at all facilities.
Additionally, we are implementing increased sanitation of hard work surfaces across all facilities, delivery trucks, forklifts and associate common areas – including the use of sanitizer wipes for common touchpoints such as time clocks, door handles, light switches, countertops, radios, lunchrooms, restrooms, vending machines, cooler handles and more – all in accordance with required training.
We are beginning every meeting with a message on the importance of frequent and effective hand-washing and sanitizing techniques, along with awareness of common touch surfaces.
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
We maintain a stringent GMP program across all bottling plants, equipment service departments, sales locations and routes that reinforces associate hygiene, sanitation, and safety – including wearing non-latex gloves for job functions that involve product or cooler contact surfaces. Documented, mandatory training is already in place.
Associate Illness
Associates, visitors, and vendors who exhibit symptoms or are ill are not permitted to be in the workplace and must avoid contact with associates, equipment and product surfaces.
Bottle and Water Dispenser Safety
As the World Health Organization has stressed, the coronavirus has not been detected in public drinking water supplies, and the risk is low due to the virus having a fragile outer membrane. At Primo Water, we process all of our bottled water products through a well-designed, multi-barrier disinfection process that includes ultraviolet disinfection and ozonation and leaves a residual disinfectant in the bottle when capped – all in a sealed system. The products we produce are of the highest quality in the industry due to the multi-barrier systems we have in place, with stringent checks and balances.Â
Water Availability
As concerns over the spread of the coronavirus have increased, so has the demand for safe, high-quality water. Our goal is to provide Pre-Filled Exchange water to locations with a low level of disruption. If your local store is out of stock please turn to Self-Serve Refill locations as an alternative. Locations can be found at https://primowater.com/find-shop/. If you are in need of a refill water jug, please find them at https://store.primowater.com/collections/refill-bottles-caps.
Though the situation remains fluid, our highest priority remains consistent: to position your safety and confidence in us at the forefront of everything we do. We will continue to diligently monitor the guidance of international, national, regional and local health agencies and apply rigorous safety and quality standards to ensure that you receive clean healthy water.
If you have questions or feedback related to the safety of our products or about our service in general, please call us toll-free at 844-23PRIMO. Thank you for the trust you place in Primo Water.
